We're Back!

Spring is Almost Here!
I don't know about you but I hope we have a normal schedule this week.

Half Days, Ice, Rain, Snow and Dr. Seuss...Oh, What an Unusual Week!
This week we participated in Read Across America. Read Across America is an annual reading program that celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
We enjoyed reading, "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Foot Book" in class.
We also read the Biography of Dr. Seuss.

Even though this was an unusual school week , we used Dr. Seuss's book: "Oh, the Place You'll Go" to write about our future hopes and dreams.

Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour this weekend. It's Daylight Savings time!

This week the children are preparing an exhibit in honor of African-American History Month.
We have been reading about Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.
If time allows, we will also read about Marion Anderson and Stevie Wonder.

We will read about: Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder and Marion Anderson.

Charlie Parker Plays: I've Got Rhythm
We will also use a new online educational program called, Studyladder.
Each student will be given a username and password which can be used to access Studyladder.
